CDSE (COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE EXAM) 2026 Overview
The UPSC CDS 1 Notification 2026 was released on 10 December 2025 on the official website upsc.gov.in. A total of 451 vacancies have been announced for candidates who wish to join the Indian Armed Forces as officers. The online application process started on 10 December 2025 and the last date to submit the application form was 30 December 2025. The CDS 1 Exam 2026 will be conducted as per the schedule released on the official website upsconline.nic.in. The Combined Defence Services (CDS) examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to recruit candidates for the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA), and Officers’ Training Academy (OTA). Candidates are selected through a written examination followed by an SSB interview. After successful selection, candidates undergo training in their respective academies before joining as officers in the Indian Army, Navy, or Air Force. The CDS 1 2026 notification also provides details about the exam pattern and syllabus. The written exam includes objective type questions with a duration of 2 hours for each paper and negative marking for wrong answers.
